Daphne Astor is a poet, artist and farmer living and working in East Anglia. She was born in New York City into a family deeply embedded in the arts and grew up moving continually between NYC, the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, and New Mexico. After receiving a BA from NYU Film School she left the USA to work in various locations in Asia for two years then moved her studio to Paris in 1977 – she settled in East Anglia soon thereafter. She is currently on the board of The Poetry School, The Centre 4 Recent Drawing and she is the curator for Poetry in Aldeburgh 2016.
Daphne will be joining Blue Door Press as editor of the anthology, Herrings and to explore ways to bring more poetry through the blue door.
